A few of our favorite living rooms from past issues

It’s back-to-school season! And that means we’re transitioning from lounging by the pool to decompressing on the couch with the family after long days. Here are some of our favorite local living rooms, as seen in the pages of inRegister magazine. Scroll on for all of the design goodness.

This formal living room, designed by Colleen Waguespack, features a stunning display of curated art from renowned Louisiana artists. A commissioned piece by George Dunbar serves as the focal point above the fireplace, with works from Nicole Charbonnet on either side. The room harmoniously blends modern and antique upholstered furniture, anchored by custom drapes with hand-embroidered trim by Michael Savoia and a sculptural rug by Carol Piper. Check out the rest of this home here.

A pop of color in a neutral-toned room hits the spot. Designer Monique Breaux curated this formal living room for her clients to match the formal feel of their house. A pair of chandeliers with leaf motifs accentuates the symmetry that Breaux finds so striking in this formal living room. For the rest of this house tour, click here.

Let’s switch it up. Maison de la Luz in New Orleans features a living room that feels like a party. Los Angeles-based interior designer Pamela Shamshiri created the atmosphere in this space by including a mix of exotic finds and whimsical luxury. For more on this hotel, read here.

Design and photography by Dan Bergeron.

Life is too short to be boring! And Dan Bergeron agrees. Set as the background of our July cover, Bergeron has art hanging on nearly every wall in his home, but this is the space he calls the art gallery. The striking pieces in his personal collection stand out against the leaf-patterned Cole & Son wallpaper—an unconventional gallery backdrop that perfectly suits Bergeron’s vision.
