Dream catchers

Sisters share a birthday party where colorful wishes come true
When Kelly Kriger, owner of Whatchawant Design, decided to throw a whimsical birthday party for her daughters Ella and Addy, she turned to neighbor and party planner Angela DiVincinti Babin, owner of Angela Marie Events. The duo teamed up to create an “Oh-So-Boho Powwow” with room-sized tents, comfy sofas for lounging, a big-girl beauty station and plenty of crafts.
“This year, I fell in love with the idea of dream catchers, so I decided to create a version for our welcome table,” says Kriger. “We cut various sizes and shapes of feathers out of cardstock and asked guests to write their dreams for Ella and Addy on them.”
Young guests also gathered around a low table surrounding a fire pit, complete with custom-made pillows for seating, to make their own necklaces and keychains. A nearby teepee housed a sand-art station that was a big hit for all. Guests young and old enjoyed the Cactus Café, which offered a build-your-own taco experience as well as hot-dog hearts, fresh veggies, and Kriger’s mom’s beloved pepper-jelly dip.
“This party was so adorable,” says Babin. “The girl’s white dresses gave the afternoon a perfect touch. The feminine colors used throughout and the beautiful succulents really gave it a soft Southwest feel. It was so much fun to put together!”
