A special dining event is icing on the cake after 25 years together

It is an anniversary worth honoring. Twenty-five years of marriage—much like 25 years in business—takes commitment, perseverance and dedication. There are ups. There are downs. There are good reasons to throw a party. Angela DiVincenti Babin, owner of Angela Marie Events, planned a special evening at Nottoway Plantation & Resort for a couple raising a toast to a quarter century of commitment. You are invited

This invitation, by MillerLine Design, is a hand-painted watercolor on artist’s paper with the writing executed using a broad-edged calligraphy nib. “We wanted the look to be fresh and whimsical but still sophisticated enough for a 25th-anniversary party,” says Jo Miller of her design.

Flower power

A collection of hydrangea, roses, lavender blooms, dusty miller, freesia and white snowberry create a colorful floral design with pizzazz. “Purples and grays work so well together,” says Lance Hayes, owner of Lance Hayes Flowers. “Pops of color look great, especially when it is still light outside.”

Setting the scene

“Try using sequins to give your anniversary party a pop of glam,” says event planner Angela DiVincenti, owner of Angela Marie Events. “But you can keep it traditional by using your own wedding china, silver and crystal.”

Dinner is served

Even the menu and place cards get special treatment and complement the style of the invitations. “We wanted the entire suite to be cohesive,” says Miller. “The purple, horizontal, gradient-like design throughout each piece brings a certain completion to the scene.” Plates are by Kate Spade.
