Come relive a 19^th-century Louisiana harvest this weekend at LSU’s Rural Life Museum’s Harvest Days. The event is open to the public Saturday through Sunday, October 1-2, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Guests will enjoy living history demonstrations that recreate what took place on Louisiana farms and plantations during the 1800s. Open-hearth cooking, soap making, wagon rides and other hands-on activities for kids will be part of the fun. Regular admission will be charged.

The LSU AgCenter Botanic Gardens will also host a corn/hay maze festival October 1 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visitors will wander through a maze of hay bales to reach a petting zoo and pumpkin painting. Kids can also enjoy hay mountain climbing, zip lining and much more. Burden Horticulture Society volunteers will sell concessions, and admission is $10 per person. Children three and under enter free. The maze fun continues on the next three Sundays—October 8, 15 and 22—and a night maze and bonfire will take place on October 29.
