The 2016 Louisiana International Film Festival takes over Cinemark Perkins Rowe this week. Running through Sunday, April 17, the event will draw film fans to enjoy movies from all over the world—and maybe sneak a peak at a celebrity or two.

The schedule of screenings, available on LIFF’s website, includes films starring American stars like Kelsey Grammer and James Franco, as well as several offerings from world cinema in Guatemala, Brazil, France and beyond. Many movies will be followed by filmmaker question-and-answer sessions.

Along with the dozens of films for which individual tickets may be purchased, the festival also includes several special events and live musical performances for those holding V.I.P., All Access or Student passes. The Filmmaker’s Lounge will be the go-to spot to see celebrity guests including Grammer and several film directors and producers, while enjoying live music and appetizers and drinks prepared by Perkins Rowe favorites like Bin 77 and Kona Grill.

But the good stuff isn’t only for pass holders. The festival offers a free mentorship program tomorrow, Friday, April 15, for students and members of the public. This program includes a behind-the-scenes tour of Celtic Media Center, a presentation on puppetry and an Apple workshop on “Videography for the iPhone,” plus international animated short film selections for the whole family.
