From ‘225’ magazine: Shop local ’til you drop
The theme song of the iconic 1990s sitcom Full House starts, “Whatever happened to predictability? The milkman, the paperboy, evening TV.” With the rise of Amazon, overnight shipping and the worldwide marketplace, the old-fashioned things that brought a community together and made a town special might seem to have fallen by the wayside. Fortunately, Baton Rouge has managed to hold onto some of the classics by fostering a unique and robust local shopping environment that not only provides the necessities, but speaks to the personality of Red Stick residents.
This month, inRegister‘s sister publication 225 magazine pulled together an extensive list of local stores. From clothes to décor to sporting goods, the guide, which is conveniently sorted based on geography, not only names the stores, but gives descriptions of the environment and the merchandise–including a very special look into several stores’ dressing rooms.
