Color me beautiful: A bridal shower takes designer cues
Bright, bold hues aren’t just for fresh frocks this season—table dressings get just as much dash from hot pinks and lime greens. The more saturated, the better. The décor for this bridal luncheon, held at Bistro Byronz on Government Street, was inspired by designer Kate Spade’s signature style.
“Kate Spade always pairs her black, white and gold with bright colors, which is perfect for spring and summer,” says Angela DiVincenti Babin, owner of Angela Marie Events. “We used many authentic Kate Spade items here, including the linens on the dessert table, the boxes and treat bags, the prizes, and even the tray the cookies were in.”
And Babin hauled in heaps of other party details as well—down to the dinnerware. She found fabulous pink and floral plates made of melamine and paired them with ceramic plates for salads. She sealed the set with glittery gold-dot glassware and striped straws.
“Bringing extra plates and such can be a lot of additional work, but it brings life to your table,” says Babin. “I always bring in plates and utensils for each event. It makes each seat a little more fabulous.”
