Casas for CASA fiesta Sunday

Casas for CASA fundraiser benefits abused children

The Capital Area Court Appointed Special Advocate Association is hosting its 21st annual Casas for CASA fundraising fiesta at the Renaissance Hotel this Sunday, July 19. The fiesta kicks off at 7 p.m. and will feature Mexican cuisine from Caliente Mexican Craving, a silent auction, and live music by The Better Than Nobody Band. Those who go will also have the chance to purchase raffle tickets to win the nonprofit’s custom-built playhouse valued at $22,000.

Can’t make it this weekend? Stop by the Mall of Louisiana to view the playhouse, which will be on display until Aug. 16 when CASA Kids Day concludes the fundraiser from noon until 5 p.m. Kids Day is completely free and will feature safety and wellness exhibits as well as activities and entertainment up until the grand drawing of the playhouse at 5 p.m.

Faulk & Meek General Contractors constructed the deluxe playhouse and will deliver it to the winner within 60 miles of the Mall of Louisiana. Fiesta tickets are $50 each and are available online, at the door, or by calling 379-8598. The Capital Area CASA Association’s mission is to advocate for abused and neglected children in foster care in order to help place them in permanent, safe and stable homes.
