Attic Treasures & Collectibles returns to Main Library
Find out if a hidden treasure lies among your dusty knickknacks at the East Baton Rouge Library’s 15th annual Attic Treasures & Collectibles event this Saturday, Nov. 21, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Main Library on Goodwood Boulevard. From toys and jewelry to art and furniture, experts will assess the value of your antiques and collectibles. The event is free and open to the public with a limit of three items per person.
Once you’ve learned the story behind your beloved items, learn how to care for them at the library’s free workshop “Preservation of the Home: Making Memories Last.” East Baton Rouge Parish Library Archivist Melissa Eastin will lead the workshop at 2 p.m. in the Main Library’s Technology Lab following Attic Treasures. Participants will discover the best practices for preserving family archives and heirlooms and view a demonstration of the Library’s P4A Antiques Database. While the workshop is free, space is limited and reservations are required. To attend the presentation, call 225-231-3752. For more details on Attic Treasures, visit the library’s website.
