Fans of food, art, music, theater, poetry and dance will flock downtown this weekend for FestForAll 2016, the annual celebration of the arts sponsored by the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge.

Held this Saturday, April 2, and Sunday, April 3, this free festival will stretch along North Boulevard from 5^th Street and the Old Governor’s Mansion all the way to the North Boulevard Town Square. This year’s event will kick off with an opening ceremony featuring a children’s parade led by participants in the Kids’ Orchestra program.

Festival goers can shop for handmade jewelry, pottery, woodwork, stained glass, fabric arts, metalwork and other arts and crafts by 100 visual artists from more than a dozen states. A special arts scavenger hunt is also part of the fun, so keep your eye out for some surprise prizes.

The event also features live performances on multiple stages, including tango dancing and the internationally recognized street dance group Dragon House Crew. Musical acts will include genres like world music, jazz, classical, zydeco, country, Americana, rock, blues and more.

Local arts groups will also provide interactive art workshops and cultural demonstrations for children and adults, a Children’s Village featuring art activities, and live performances from storytellers, magicians, stilt walkers and more on the Children’s Village Stage. Plenty of culinary treats will be available.
