Although it’s only August, Christmas will be here before we know it. With the holiday comes the hollies and jollies of ornament-filled trees, eggnog and endless rolls of wrapping paper. But perhaps the most notable of them all is the local performance of The Nutcracker- A Tale from the Bayou.

Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre invites community children to join in on the holiday fun by auditioning for the performance on September 14. The auditions will be held at The Dancer’s Workshop, and children from 8 years old to 8th grade are invited to participate.

Registration fees are $15 to pre-pay or $20 on-site, payable exclusively by cash or check. Regardless of experience level, dancers have an opportunity to be cast as lambs, cherubs, mice, cooks, toy soldiers and party children in the holiday classic.
