Seen & Heard: Fashion and philanthropy come together at The Capital Gala
For the 58th year, honorees dubbed Baton Rouge’s best dressed will take the stage with the goal of raising funds and awareness for the cancer cause. This year, following a brief hiatus in 2024, the event returns to the Raising Cane’s River Center on September 27 as the rebranded The Capital Gala with a renewed focus on cancer care in the local community. Partnering with Our Lady of the Lake Cancer Institute, The Capital Gala aims to raise $1 million to support cancer research, patient care and other programs. In addition, each year moving forward, other local nonprofits in the cancer space will also receive funds from the event. The Bella Bowman Foundation, which focuses on pediatric brain cancer and ComfortCare, will be the event’s additional beneficiary for 2025.
“What we want the community to know is that we are back,” executive board member Tonya Toups Gautreau notes. “And our focus is on uplifting the local community.”
