2021 is going out with a bang in Baton Rouge this Friday, and it’s all happening downtown at the annual New Year’s Eve celebration, Red Stick Revelry. From 8 p.m. to midnight at Davis Rhorer Plaza, catch live music by Press 1 for English and The Michael Foster Project, along with two laser light shows and a firework display at the strike of 12.

For the children, Red Stick Revelry will include a separate celebration earlier in the day from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the River Center Branch Library and Town Square. Stop by for storytelling, art activities, and a performance by Clay Achee and the puppets of Ziggy and the Junkyard Band. Even though the kiddos may not see the drop of the red stick—our version of Time Square’s famous ball—they’ll be able to watch it rise at noon, all while taking part in a festive “Auld Lang Syne” sing-along.
